These are just some of the results obtained by students in a suburban high school after spending one semester in the Strategies for Success leadership/success program.

This course was written to address some of the elements missing in the education of teens in the twenty-first century.  Parents, business owners, teachers and teens themselves have expressed concern that students are not exposed to as many positive influences as they were in years past.  With fragmented families and both parents working, teens often find themselves with an overabundance of time on their hands and a scarcity of empowering resources at their disposal.  For many, advice comes in the form of the omnipresent media or a fellow teen.  They need and want assistance in creating a good life for themselves but often don’t know where to turn for reliable information and tools.

Schools have ramped up their academic curricula to address new laws and national testing. Teachers have been asked to rise to the ranks of ‘high performing.’  Parents have struggled to find solutions to help their children.  But students still seek a cohesive framework to link their educational and social issues in a meaningful, engaging and inviting manner.

Strategies for Success provides students with multi-intelligence, whole-brain based, team building sets of lessons that allow students to learn strategies for coping with issues both in and out of school.  Students are exposed to some of the top authors of the era in the fields of self-improvement and financial education.

The energizing classroom environment created in this course allows students to actively participate in building strategies that will last a lifetime.

Bullying is an issue across the country.  All schools must soon have a program that addresses bullying, one that students can truly learn from.

Lessons from this curriculum are part of our play "High School BULLY" offering teens practical tools to cope with some of the stress that bullying causes for all parties involved.

Students in this course build teams that ripple throughout the school decreasing bullying and discipline problems in general.  The safe climate created in the Strategies classroom frees students to focus on learning rather than fear of what the school day might bring. 

As one student said, "The feeling I get when I walk into the room is one of positive energy.  It makes me feel like I belong.  Most importantly to me, I feel safe in this class.”

The newest edition of  Strategies for Success has several specific lessons about bullying - but treats the topic in an empowering rather than punitive manner allowing the bullied to cope successfully, the bullies to improve their self esteem so they don't need to bully while giving the bystanders tools to interrupt bullying while it's taking place.

Because it takes time to change long held beliefs, a long term program has more lasting benefits than short lectures.  This program allows students to grow slowly while empowering them in many areas of their lives at the same time. 

The end result is a school where students feel safe, an improved overall school climate and students who have learned how to cope, how to learn, how to set goals, and how to enjoy being in school.
