Executive
Director: David Payton received a BS in
Engineering in 1971 from the University of
Rhode Island, followed by a BA in Theatre
Education in 1977 from Rhode Island College.
He is certified to teach grades 5- 12 in
English, Communications and Theatre. David
worked as a College Admissions Officer at
Rhode Island College and the Community
College of Rhode Island from 1977 to 1980
and he taught in the Seekonk, MA school
system at all elementary schools and middle
schools from 1980 81.
David has been the Director of Kaleidoscope
Theatre since its inception in 1977.

Managing Director: Robert Zannini
attended the Rhode Island School of Design
and was a Buyer for the Apex Department
Store in Providence, RI from 1966 1977.
He then owned and operated Antika, an
antique shop in Pawtuxet, RI (1977 1981)
until he became the full time Managing
Director of Kaleidoscope Theatre.

Manager/Stage Manager/Administrative
Director: Nicole
Frechette received a BA in Theatre and in
History (summa cum laude) from Rhode Island
College in 2006 and she just celebrated her
third summer working for Kaleidoscope! While
at RIC, she worked as a RAT (Roberts
Auditorium Technical Assistant) for three
years and worked on a variety of Growing
Stage and Mainstage productions as a stage
manager, including: Greater Tuna,
Equus, The Misanthrope, The
Pirates of Penzance, and All My Sons.
Outside of Kaleidoscope, Nicole has been the
alumni advisor for the Lincoln Middle School
drama club for ten years, and has worked on
several local productions, including Talk
Radio, produced by Daydream Theatre and
The Compleat Works of William Shakespeare
(abridged), produced by Epic Theatre
Company. |

Technical Director: Rob Ferland
received a BA in Technical Theatre (cum
laude) with emphasis on Light Design and
Technical Direction from Rhode Island
College in 2005 and is now the full time
Technical Director for the Nazarian Center
for the Performing Arts. While at RIC, Rob
worked as a RAT (Roberts Auditorium
Technical Assistant) for five years and
worked on several Theatre department shows
as the Lighting Designer, including: I
Hate Hamlet and The Pirates of
Penzance. Although he now works fulltime
for the College, Rob still finds the time to
work with other local companies including:
Kaleidoscope Theatre, Festival Ballet
Providence, State Ballet of Rhode Island,
and the Caroline Dutra Dance Studio.
